Charlotte, NC (January 7, 2021) – Around 6:23 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 7, a serious car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Charlotte.
Charlotte officials confirmed that the accident took place at the intersection of Albemarle Road and Central Avenue when two or more vehicles collided with one another. Due to the first collision, a second collision happened involving the first vehicles, which was deemed a hit-and-run. One vehicle immediately fled the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the collision. One or more victims were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment, though the extent of their injuries is not entirely known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
