Charlotte, NC (January 8, 2021) – Around 12:45 p.m. on Friday afternoon, January 8, a car accident with injuries occurred in Charlotte.
Charlotte officials confirmed that the accident took place at 5700 East Independence Boulevard when two vehicles collided with one another. One of the vehicles involved in the accident immediately fled the scene of the accident. The vehicle that stayed behind was badly damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The roadway was blocked for some time. Police did not say if they caught the driver responsible for the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
