Charlotte, NC – Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Injuries on I-77

Charlotte, NC (February 13, 2021) – At 12:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, February 11, a car accident took place on a busy highway in the greater Charlotte area.

Two northbound lanes of Interstate 77 were closed after the accident occurred. Per reports from the York County Sheriff’s Office, a tractor-trailer and a car collided. Injuries were also reported in the crash, troopers said, but details about the victims and the extent of their injuries were not immediately available.

The crash on I-77 happened near Carowinds Amusement Park, just north of Exit 90. The two left lanes were blocked for several hours.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues and no further details have been released at this time.
