Denver, NC (March 27, 2021) – Around 1:10 p.m. on Friday afternoon, March 26, a fatal collision took place on a roadway in Denver.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Campground Road around the area of Pine Ridge Drive. At the time, a Chevrolet Avalanche was headed west when it went over the center line and crashed into a GMC Yukon head-on.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, who was identified as Alexander Hickman, was flown to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the GMC, identified as Boyce Moore, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Michael Spillars, was also pronounced dead due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
