Winston-Salem, NC (January 25, 2021) – Around 12:43 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, January 23, a DUI accident with injuries occurred in Winston-Salem.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of South Glenn Avenue and Hope Lane. Police confirmed that 68-year-old Walter Darrey Moore was driving a silver Audi Quattro east when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle, exiting the roadway and crashing into a tree stump. His vehicle then overturned.
Moore, as well as his 52-year-old passenger, were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Moore is expected to recover. His passenger has been listed in critical condition and is fighting for his life.
Moore has since received several charges including DUI, driving with a revoked license, and more.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
