Asheville, NC (November 30, 2020) – Around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, November 29, a two-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Asheville.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the accident took place in the westbound lanes of I-240 when two vehicles forcefully collided with each other. One of the vehicles had extensive front-end damage as a result of the accident. It is believed that one of the vehicles may have been headed in the wrong direction but this has not yet been verified.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Both drivers were rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries but they are expected to be okay.
Numerous lanes of traffic were blocked in the area of the accident for some time until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the crash continues.
