Hillsborough, NC (April 03, 2021) – One person died during a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a car on Highway 86 just outside of Hillsborough on Wednesday, March 31st.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said that the accident took place in the area of Efland Cedar Grove Road at about 7:00 a.m. when a sedan and a tractor-trailer collided head-on.
The road was closed for several hours. EMS, Orange County fire crews, and the sheriff’s office all responded to the site.
The victim’s name has not been released.
