North Carolina Woman Dies in Pedestrian Accident while Saving Young Child

If you or a loved one was injured in a car accident as a pedestrian, then you may be able to recover compensation from the driver of the vehicle who struck you. Although no amount of money can make your pain and suffering go away, it can help you cope with the stack of bills and other expenses you’ve incurred because of the accident. Contact the compassionate Raleigh car accident lawyers at Maurer Law now to learn more about your rights.
Earlier this year, a North Carolina woman was hit and killed in a pedestrian accident in a suburb. The woman, who had recently celebrated her 51st birthday after surviving a difficult case of Covid-19, was at home when she saw a little boy who was a family friend chasing a ball as it rolled into the street. The woman observed a truck approaching the child in the roadway and ran out into the street to push the child out of the way. The background on what happened leading up to her death came from a neighbor who observed the situation. Although the decedent was taken to the hospital to receive medical treatment, she was unable to survive the impact of her injuries.
To hold a careless driver responsible for your injuries or the loss of a loved one, you must prove that the driver failed to drive with the same ordinary care and skill that a prudent and reasonable driver would use. When we travel through the suburbs, we have a duty to obey the speed limit and keep an eye out for pedestrians. There is a greater likelihood of children playing and people outside when you are driving through a suburban area.
